====== Substitutes ======

Substitutes are the materials/products that can be used as a substitute for the other material/product, when it occurs that the one which was in the composition of the product was consumed.

<note important>In order to use the product as a substitute, in the **global configuration** in the tab **Production** -> **Planning**/proceeding, enable the option '**Products can be substitutes**'</note>

===Defining of substitutes for the assortment===

**To create a list of substitutes for the assortment, you have to:**

I way:

  - from the menu  **Warehouse** choose **Assortment**. 
  - Edit assortment (or add a new one), to which a substitute has to be assigned. 
  - Go to the tab **Substitutes**, click on **Add**, select the assortment that can be used as a substitute.
  - Specify the calculator for the chosen substitute,
  - Click on **Confirm**,

<note tip>After selecting the option 'Always use this substitute' the Modus will automatically change a specific ingredient of the formula into a substitute, regardless of the do inventory balance of the basic ingredient. In case of variant products, a description of the product remains without changes.  </note>

<note important>Option 'Always use this substitute' will work for new orders to recipients</note>

II way

  - In the module **Warehouse** choose **Assortment**,
  - Select the assortment, for which the substitute has to be assigned.
  - After clicking on **Show details** or pressing **F8**, choose the tab **Substitute**, click on **Add**, and select the substitute.
