Installation of the next workstation

For the appropriate working of the program you have to unblock the port 3050 (provided that the operating system has got an active firewall). In Windows XP you have to choose the control panel → firewall of the Windows system (or the Network firewall), and next in the tab „Exceptions” choose the port (the choice of name is free, e.g. modus a port 3050, TCP selected) and accept.

After running the installation, accepting the license and indicating the localization of program, you have to choose from the drop-down list box „Installation of the Modus program in the network version” or select the component „Modus program”.

After installation you have to run the program with the security key plugged in. During the first running, the window „Registration of the workstation” will appear. The code field is filled out by default with the name of the logged user in the Windows system> The Computer's name field - the name of the computer in the network. You can change it the way, to quickly find it on the list of workstations and identify, which workstation it is.

After that, the program will display the window, where you should enter the localization of the database on the serwer, server's IP and the path to the configuration files.

Consider the option of creating automatic backups - by default, this option is disabled on every new workstation.

In case of the keys' exchange/additional purchase of new workstations and security, it is necessary to load a new license to the database (otherwise, Modus will not work with a new key). For this purpose:

1. activate the file RhoAdmin that is located in the Modus main folder,
2. click on Connect,
3. move to the tab Program Registration,
4. click on Download the license.
