Production terminal (version 2.2)

Production terminal allows you for registry of operations performed by workers on the factory floor. Depending on the analytical needs and a character of production, it can work in two modes:

  • registry of the produced quantity - function Scanner,
  • registry of the completion time and the produced quantity.

A mode according to which the terminal works, depends on the configuration of:

  • options of the production technology stages
    TECHNOLOGIES/TECHNOLOGIES/STAGES/EDIT/DETAILS
  • options of the computer workstation (related to production)
    INDEX CARDS/CONFIGURATION/COMPUTER WORKSTATION /EDIT/PRODUCTION WORKSTATION
  • options of the production standards in the formulas of assortment
    WAREHOUSE/ASSORTMENT/FORMULAS/EDIT/STANDARDS OF PRODUCTION

Registration of the time of completion and the produced quantity

Every day, an Employee or a Piecework groups begin the work by signing into the system. In the system, the Entry will be automatically recorded. It should be used as the beginning of the work time.

Signing in and the work with a terminal is possible only for the entitled employees. The rights can be given from the level employee's cards

An employee or a piecework group can sign in and out from the terminal many times.

After signing in, depending on the defined rights, the employee can see:

  • a list of the assigned products to him,
  • a list of the products assigned to all employees,
  • an empty list, if nothing was assigned.
If an employee has got appropriate rights he can assign a product to himself by scanning the serial number of the product in the field CODE. Then, a particular batch will appear on the employee's list. The assignment does not change anything in the analysis of production. Information will get there if an employee begins/finishes the work with the product.

By using different options of the terminal, an employee or a piecework group can begin, finish, hold on or resume the work for each batch of a product. By finishing the particular batch of products, an employee or a group indicates how many items were completed. There is no possibility of finishing the bigger quantity of products than the quantity completed in the previous stage.

There are many relation in the production, that are indicated in the appropriate messages:

  • Product is not assigned to the worker. Assign it?
  • At the stages that precede a chosen stage of production, the enough quantity was not completed.
  • Production is not initiated yet. You can not change the production stage. (ZPR in the draft)
  • Product has an inadequate status to its type of operation. (A worker or a group attempts to make an unauthorized operation e.g. a suspended product is attempted to be finished. You have to resume it or complete production for this batch).

If a worker or the piecework group finishes the work, then all the initiated products on the list change the status into Suspended. At the time of the renewed start of work, the products do not have to be renewed.

Individual stages can be divided into Actions. More on this topic you can find here.
Gathered data that relates to the conducted production and its time consumption are available in the module of Analyses and Reports - group of analyses: Production - analysis of Employees and Analysis of production - employees.

In version 2.3 system functionality was expanded with the abilty to define multiple tasks with one step. This allows you to determine the time and cost for the product. Their application will allow you to precisely determine the cost of production time across the batch of products.

Defining a number of steps for the production stage, affects the production of the terminal work. Starting work on the stage is necessary to indicate the actions employee performs . After completing the steps employee clicks End, that would end the stage. For variables steps it is possible to enter number of copies made, and commenced operations at constant clicking End, completing work on tasks without giving numbers.

Available functions

Scanner - the function is designed to simplify the realization of production without counting up a work time.

Start - this function is designed to initiate a process of production of the chosen product. Its usage changes a status of the product from Pending to Initiated, and the information about a data and time of the production initiation is reported in the system. The function is used once for the particular product.

Suspend - the function is designed to report the interval in the production process of the chosen product. It should be used regardless of the reason of the suspension of the order execution. Its usage changes a status of the product from Initiated into Suspended. In the system, the information about the date and the time of suspension of production is reported. This function can be used many times for a specific product.

Resume - the function is designed for reporting in the system continuity of the production process of the chosen product. Its usage changes the status of the product from Suspended to Initiated. In the system, the information about a date and time of resuming the production is reported. This function can be used many times for a specific product.

Finish - the function is designed for reporting in the system the completion of the production process of the chosen product and entering the produced quantity.

If the produced quantity equals the planned quantity for production:

  • yes, using the function finishes the production (a product disappears from the list),
  • no, using the function reduces the number of products for manufacturing.

If in the process of production, the activities were distinguished after using this function, the product is pending for performing the remained actions.

Refresh - this tool updates the view, by reloading of information from the database. This function is particularly useful when many users work simultaneously on the program. It gives the employee possibility of checking if in the meantime other orders were assigned to him/her.

Details - this tool provides an additional menu, that gives detailed information about the process of production of the chosen product:

Log out - the function logs out the worker, making the access to the list of orders of the particular employee impossible to other employees.

End of work - the function is designed for registering the employee's presence, it enters in the system a date and time of the end of work (Exit) and suspends all the production orders under realization. Using the function End of work is not necessary then (function does not influence the analysis of the Payroll processing).

Realization of the process of production (signing in the worker):

  1. Scan a bar code of the workcell, on which you will be working.
  2. Scan a bar code o f your identity card - an automatic logging in will take place.
  3. Click on Log in or press Enter if inserted the identity card from the keyboard.
  4. The list of assigned products will be assigned.
  5. Scan the bar code of a product's label, that will be realized. It will appear in the code field.
  6. If the product was not assigned and it was not on the list, a question will appear if it should be assigned. to do it, click on Yes.
  7. After scanning of the bar code, a filter will be automatically activated. On the list, there will be only a product with the inserted bar code.
  8. After clicking on Yes you can initiate the work by clicking on Start - counting up of the operation time will begin.
  9. This information will be visible in the production scheme in an RWT tab.
  10. the system allows you for suspension of the particular process of realization. In order to suspend counting up of the time, click Suspend. To continue the work over the product, click Resume.
  11. Information about suspension and resuming the work is also available in the window of the production scheme in the tab RWT.
  12. After completion of the particular stage of a product click Finish.
  13. Enter the quantity of the product's items made at the stage.
  14. Meanwhile, a worker can log out form a terminal (not finishing his work for the day) to enable other worker noting down of the performed actions. Additionally, entitled users can fet familiar with other information that relates to the product, by clicking on Details
  15. After producinf awhole batch by a worker, it disappears from his list and a worker responsible for the next stage can start the work.
  16. To finish the work for the day click Back to menu, and next Finish work.

Working of a piecework group on a production terminal (logging in of the piecework group):

In order to analyze the effects of the piecework groups, workers have to log into a terminal as a piecework group. Regardless of signing in of a whole group, working hours can be counted up for particular workers. After logging in, a product can be already assigned to the group. On the terminal you will a list with the assigned product to every worker. Individual workers start working by selecting their name from a list and clicking Start. Other actions are similar to the loggin of particular workers.
